Lemosho Route — 8 Days$2,050

Lemosho Route — 8 Days

Per person · Best acclimatisation

Best price $1890 ppwhen you join a group departure

The scenic western approach with the highest summit success rate. Quiet trails, gradual altitude gain and superb views of the Shira Plateau.

Frequently asked questions

+How high is the success rate on the 8-day Lemosho route?

Around 98.5% of our climbers reach Uhuru Peak on this itinerary. The extra days on the Shira Plateau give your body time to acclimatise before summit night.

+What is included in the price?

Park and rescue fees, camping equipment, all meals on the mountain, professional guides, cook and fairly-paid porters, emergency oxygen and a pulse oximeter, plus airport transfers and two nights in a Moshi hotel.

+Do I need technical climbing experience?

No. Lemosho is a walking route — good general fitness and a few months of hill walking or cardio training are enough.

+When is the best time to climb Lemosho?

January to mid-March and June to October are the driest months, but we run departures year-round from Moshi.

Lemosho Route — 9 Days$2,100

Lemosho Route — 9 Days

Per person · Extra acclimatisation day

Best price $1950 ppwhen you join a group departure

One additional night on the mountain for climbers who want the safest possible profile before summit night at Karanga and Barafu.

Frequently asked questions

+Why add a ninth day?

The extra night at Karanga gives you one more acclimatisation sleep before Barafu, which is the safest profile we offer on a non-technical route.

+Is this route good for over-50s or first-time trekkers?

Yes — it is the itinerary we most often recommend for older climbers, families and anyone who has never slept at altitude.

+What happens if someone gets altitude sickness?

Guides run twice-daily health checks with a pulse oximeter. We carry emergency oxygen and can descend quickly; evacuation support is included.

Lemosho via Western Breach — 9 Days$5,300

Lemosho via Western Breach — 9 Days

Per person · Technical, private crater camp

Best price $4990 ppwhen you join a group departure

For experienced trekkers: a dramatic route through the Western Breach with a night inside the crater beside the Furtwängler Glacier.

Frequently asked questions

+Is the Western Breach dangerous?

It is the most demanding route on Kilimanjaro and includes a rockfall-exposed scramble. We only accept experienced trekkers, start very early and issue helmets.

+Do we really sleep inside the crater?

Yes — one night at Crater Camp beside the Furtwängler Glacier at 5,730m, which is the highest campsite in Africa.

+What experience do you require?

Previous multi-day trekking above 4,000m, comfort with scrambling and a good level of cardiovascular fitness.

Machame Route — 7 Days$1,650

Machame Route — 7 Days

Per person · The Whiskey Route

Best price $1490 ppwhen you join a group departure

Kilimanjaro's most popular trek. Rainforest, the Barranco Wall and a well-paced seven-day itinerary that keeps success rates high.

Frequently asked questions

+How hard is the Barranco Wall?

It is a steep but non-technical scramble of about 1.5 hours. Guides lead the group slowly and there is no rope or climbing gear needed.

+Why 7 days instead of 6?

The seventh day adds the Karanga camp, which lifts summit success from roughly 70% to well above 90%.

+Is Machame busy?

It is Kilimanjaro's most popular route, so you will see other groups. We start each day slightly ahead of the crowds.

Rongai Route — 7 Days$1,750

Rongai Route — 7 Days

Per person · Quiet northern approach

Best price $1590 ppwhen you join a group departure

The only route from the north. Drier weather, few other groups and a gentle gradient — ideal for a first high-altitude climb.

Frequently asked questions

+Why choose Rongai?

It is the only route from the north, so it is drier, much quieter and has a gentle gradient — ideal for a first high-altitude climb or for the rainy season.

+Which side do we descend?

You descend via Marangu, so you see two different sides of the mountain in one trip.

+Is wildlife common on this route?

Colobus monkeys and buffalo tracks are often seen in the lower forest on the Kenyan side of the mountain.

Marangu Route — 6 Days$1,550

Marangu Route — 6 Days

Per person · Hut accommodation

Best price $1420 ppwhen you join a group departure

Sleep in mountain huts instead of tents on the classic Coca-Cola Route, with the same ascent and descent path.

Frequently asked questions

+Do we sleep in huts?

Yes — Mandara, Horombo and Kibo huts have dormitory bunks, dining halls and running water at the lower camps, so no tents are needed.

+Is 6 days enough?

It works for fit trekkers who have been at altitude before. If this is your first climb we recommend the 7-day Machame or 8-day Lemosho instead.

+Is Marangu the cheapest way up Kilimanjaro?

It is our lowest-priced route because it is shorter and uses huts, and the group-joining price is lower again.

Mount Kenya — 6 Days$1,850

Mount Kenya — 6 Days

Per person · Sirimon to Chogoria

Best price $1690 ppwhen you join a group departure

Summit Point Lenana (4,985m) at sunrise on the classic traverse across Mackinder's Valley and down the spectacular Chogoria trail.

Frequently asked questions

+Which peak do we summit?

Point Lenana at 4,985m — the trekking summit, reached at sunrise. Batian and Nelion are technical climbs and are not part of this trip.

+Is this a good warm-up for Kilimanjaro?

Yes. Many climbers do Mount Kenya first, then Kilimanjaro a week later with excellent acclimatisation.

+Where does the trip start?

We start at Sirimon gate and traverse to Chogoria; transfers from Nairobi or Nanyuki are arranged for you.

Frequently asked questions

+What happens on the Hadzabe morning?

You join Hadzabe hunters at dawn near Lake Eyasi, learn about bow-making and bush food, and visit a Datoga blacksmith afterwards.

+Can we add Zanzibar?

Yes — we arrange flights and beach hotels in Zanzibar as an extension after any climb or safari.

+Is the visit respectful to communities?

We work directly with the families involved and they are paid fairly for hosting, which is part of our responsible-tourism policy.

98.5% summit successLicensed by TALA / TATO
“We summited Uhuru Peak at sunrise and I still cannot believe it. Our guide monitored our oxygen twice a day, the food was hot and plentiful, and the porters were treated with real respect. Worth every dollar.”
Sarah M.United Kingdom — Lemosho Route, 8 Days
“Six days across Tarangire, Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. Our driver-guide spotted a leopard within an hour and knew exactly where the migration had moved. Window seat for everyone, spotless vehicle.”
Daniel & EvaNetherlands — Serengeti & Ngorongoro Safari
“I compared eight operators. These guys answered every email within hours, gave an honest breakdown of costs, and never upsold me. On the mountain the acclimatisation pacing was perfect — our whole group of five made it.”
Michael R.United States — Machame Route, 7 Days
“Quiet route, beautiful camps, and a summit night that felt safe from start to finish. The team carried extra oxygen and a stretcher, which gave my family real peace of mind back home.”
Aiko T.Japan — Rongai Route, 7 Days
“The Maasai and Hadzabe visits were respectful and genuine, not a show for tourists. We hunted at dawn with the Hadzabe and learned more in one morning than in any museum.”
Lucas P.Brazil — Cultural & Hadzabe Tour
“Booking by email felt personal from the first message. Airport pickup on time, hotel sorted, briefing clear. My first big mountain and I never once felt like a number.”
