Day 1
Arrival in Moshi
Airport transfer, hotel and briefing.
Day 2
Marangu Gate to Mandara Huts
Rainforest walk to the Mandara Huts (2,700m).
Day 3
Mandara to Horombo Huts
Climb into open moorland with giant lobelia to Horombo (3,720m).
Day 4
Acclimatisation day at Horombo
Day walk toward Zebra Rocks and Mawenzi base, sleeping again at Horombo.
Day 5
Horombo to Kibo Huts
Cross the alpine desert saddle to Kibo Huts (4,700m); early night.
Day 6
Kibo to Uhuru Peak and descent
Midnight climb via Gilman's Point to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), descend to Horombo, then Marangu Gate the same trip.

Frequently asked questions
Do we sleep in huts?
Yes — Mandara, Horombo and Kibo huts have dormitory bunks, dining halls and running water at the lower camps, so no tents are needed.
Is 6 days enough?
It works for fit trekkers who have been at altitude before. If this is your first climb we recommend the 7-day Machame or 8-day Lemosho instead.
Is Marangu the cheapest way up Kilimanjaro?
It is our lowest-priced route because it is shorter and uses huts, and the group-joining price is lower again.
